Which Stretch Mark Remover Will Work Best for You

June 30th, 2009

Stretchmark Removal

Is there a perfect stretch mark remover that will work for everyone?  We don’t think so.  But, there are a multitude of stretch mark removal methods that are used with different degrees of success.  More and more of these tend to favor the natural approach while others involve a more extreme approach, like cosmetic or laser surgery.  Eliminating stretch marks may be a difficult process and require significant amounts of time, depending on the stretch mark treatment selected, with the prices in the area of $30 for a popular stretch mark creme to $1,000’s for plastic surgery or laser treatments.

Which removal procedure works best for you will be determined by the age of your stretch marks, your type of skin, and budgetary constraints.  Here is a summary of the most popular ways to remove stretch marks:

Remember To Hydrate Yourself

Comsume just as much or more water as you drink coffee, tea, or soda. Stretch marks can also result from nutritional deficiency. Drink significant amounts of water (at least 2 litres every day) - not soda or juices - because it assists your skin in staying supple. If you drink a lot of coffee or tea, drink three litres of water daily.

Take Skin Supportive Supplements

Vitamin E is a critically important vitamin to take if you are pregnant to avoid stretch marks. In addition, a cream or lotion containing Vitamin D will assist in eliminating stretch marks. However, because Vitamin E by itself won’t work because of the large size of their molecule; lanolin, which has very small molecules, can be utilized to receive the ingredients beyond the top layer of skin and help with skin elasticity.  If you suffer from stretch marks, Vitamin E is thought to improve them by blending away their appearance.

Stretch Mark Removers

Creams and lotions for stretch marks will not totally remove stretch marks, but will generally fade their appearance to the point where the affected skin blends with the surrounding healthy skin.  There are many stretch mark cremes and oils that have been made to sustain your skin taut and firm during pregnancy and actually help in the prevention of stretch marks from starting.  The creams and lotions that penetrate the skin in the deeper layers will provide longer-lasting moisture that is essential to healthy skin. These creams are best applied as night creams.

Surgical Procedures

Surgical procedures are generally the most expensive of the stretch mark elimination methods, though repeated laser treatments can result in similar costs.  The facts indicate that surgical procedures are considered to be the most effective and conventional method in eliminating stretch marks. This procedure generally involves the removal of areas of skin where the stretch marks have developed.  The 2nd type of surgical procedure that can aid in removing stretch marks is laser scar removal. This method is essentially non-invasive and doesn’t leave skin damage such as scars or incisions.

Laser treatment of stretch marks and scars are claimed to stimulate collagen production under the skin as the dermal skin layer absorbs the laser light, which in theory fills out the skin and assisting to return pigment to the scarred area. However, there is still disagreement within the health care field regarding laser use to treat scars and stretch marks.  Even now, many doctors and plastic surgeons believe that lasers cannot successfully treat stretch marks.

To sum it up, the stretch mark removal procedures listed above are all proven to work to varying degrees, depending on the individual’s skin type, age of the stretch marks, and available funding.  The least expensive of the stretch mark removers are the creams and lotions, which fade existing stretch marks and give them the opportunity to blend in with the surrounding skin.  This approach is one of the easiest treatments and should be considered first — you may just be very pleased with the results while saving your hard-earned dollars!

Taking Whey Protein Supplements? Do You know about Possible Side Effects?

June 26th, 2009

You are always hearing that you need to check with your doctor before you embark on any fitness regime. That is always worth it. Going for a physical and a consultation with your doctor can get you some great advice on starting your workouts. It is easy to forget what you will be eating. It’s at least as important to talk about what you’ll be eating as what you’ll be doing. It’s common knowledge that you need to eat a lot of protein when you are working out a lot and trying to get fit. You can get this protein in in many ways from natural food, meats and fish etc to protein powder supplements and liquid protein supplements as well as protein bars. With all of these choices and medical sounding  claims its easy to get confused and one thing that you might be wondering is whether these protein supplements can cause any side effects. The short answer is no. Most of the supplements that you can get are simply food supplements and so not really different to eating large amounts of lean chicken breast - except much more convenient. It is always a good idea to consult your doctor as there is always the chance that you could expereince some side effects from whey protein.

Allergies.

If the person is allergic to anything in the ingredients then taking a whey protein supplement could cause an allergic reaction. there is always the possibility that something that goes into the supplement has come into contact with peanuts. This will usually be shown as a warning on the packaging.
If you are alergic to some type of food, peanuts for example, then you need to be extra careful and check the packaging of any protein powder that you are think ing of buying to make sure that you aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients. If you are not already alergic to anything, it probably isnt worth worrying about this.

Pumping iron.

It is important that you are working out hard if you expect to need a whey protein supplement. Basically, you will see no side affects from whey protein supplements when you are working out hard. Eating normal food and consuming a whey protein supplement are really very similar. Remember, you should get as much of your protein from normal food as you can, but it is very hard to get all of it that way and that’s where protein supplements come in.  Whey protein supplements help you to get the protein that you need, exactly when you need it.

The conclusion that you can take away from this is that side affects with a whey protein supplement are unlikely and not something that you should worry about unless you are already allergic to some foods. Try to eat as much of your protein as real food. Eat right, take a top quality protein supplement and most importantly, hit the gym hard and you will reach your goals in no time. Just to be sure though, talk to your doctor to make sure that you don’t suffer any
side effects from your whey protein supplement because of unknown allergies.

A Note On All about Viral Bronchitis

June 26th, 2009

Bronchitis, a redness of the lung’s air passing, can be made by various viruses. Viral bronchitis is frequently caused by the flu virus or as complicatedness from a common cold virus. Bronchitis resultant from viral contagions is more prevailing in the cold and flu time of year of the winter months. Most of the cases reported in research of acute bronchitis are caused by a virus, with the remaining few cases happens from a bacterial contagion.

Features Of Viral Bronchitis

When a viral contagion attacks the bronchial tubes (the large air passing of the lungs) the tubes react to the aggress by getting inflamed, making mucous secretion and puffiness. These passing narrow down and may even close down, make respiring hard. In a viral attack the mucous ramps up in the passages and is secreted out by body through coughing. Often viral bronchitis happens during a bout of the flu or afterward a cold.

Effects

A bronchitis contagion always admits a cough, but the indicants that come with the cough may alter. Often, the cough of viral bronchitis is connected with large measure of dark yellow or green mucous secretion. Viral bronchitis contagious when compared to bacteria. Extra indicants of viral bronchitis may have chest congestion, feverishness, tiredness, chills, venous sinus congestion, asthmatic, sore throat or ache in the chest.

Identification

Viral bronchitis is typically named based on the patient’s indicants. Redness of the bronchial tubes can be affirmed by hearing to the chest with a stethoscope. A chest X-ray may also be executed to rule out the possibleness of pneumonia. In few cases, a sputum sample is accumulated to find whether the bronchitis is made by a virus or bacteria.

Prevention/Solution

Viral bronchitis is addressed with rest and over-the-counter cough medicines. If the cough is serious, a prescription cough suppressant, expectorator or inhalator may be prescribed. Because antibiotic drug are inefficient against viral contagions, they are not used to treat viral bronchitis. The danger of contracting viral bronchitis can be decreased by getting a flu vaccination, fending off cigarettes and by cleaning hands often during cold and flu season.

Considerations

Some steps can be taken at home to relieve the indicants of viral bronchitis. Warm steam from a vaporizer or hot shower can relax phlegm, making the cough more generative. Medicine to decrease fever can assist with connected discomfort. A coughing suppressant should not be used to address viral bronchitis as the cough from the sickness helps eliminate extra mucous secretion in the lungs.

Can a person with diabetes eat natural sugar from fruits?

June 24th, 2009

My daddy is a borderline diabetic, which means he doesn't exactly quite have diabetes but is in the risk of getting it. We've already tried to make him eat less sugar to keep from getting it, but he always wants what he can't have. Is it okay if he eats natural sugar in fruits?

Let's put it this way… I've had type two diabetes for over six years. I was taking medication for it and it kept getting worse. I began to do some research. I found that I was deficient in certain nutrients found in abundance in fruits, like potassium. Since increasing my intake of fresh fruits, like bananas, my diabetes has reversed to the extent that I no longer need any medication. Hopefully, that answers your question

What are good ways to help friends quit smoking?

June 24th, 2009

When someone wants to quit smoking, what would you reccommend they do? Maybe start out by cutting back or something else? (I'm curious, because my boyfriend says he wants to quit, but that he thinks it's best he slowly cuts back on cigarettes per day.)

Nah, scaling back never works.

He's got to quit cold-turkey, with or without any of the various aids. He needs to get rid of cigarettes, lighters, ashtrays. Not put away, but get them out of the house.

Have lots of stuff for his mouth to do–hard candy, mints, gum, etc. Later he'll have to wean himself off those, too.

Tell him how proud you are of him. Tell him how nice it is to kiss him now. Tell him how much better the apartment smells. Tell him you know this will help him live longer, look and feel better, and free him from an addictive need that can take a person outside in the dead of a winter night or in a thunderstorm. ("OMG, I'm out of cigarettes!")

Help him by taking him to places where he won't smell others smoking. Ask his friends not to smoke around him for a while, until he's more firmly quit.

And forgive him if he backslides–but encourage him to get right up and try again.
